Free janam kundli, explained house by house

A janam kundli (birth chart) is a map of the sky at the exact moment and place you were born. The AstroSaar app makes your kundli free and explains every part of it in simple Hindi, Gujarati or English.

What you need to make a kundli

  • Date of birth
  • Exact time of birth (from the birth certificate if possible)
  • Place of birth (city or village)

The time matters most. Your lagna (ascendant) changes roughly every two hours, and it decides which planet sits in which house. Even a 10 to 15 minute difference can change some divisional charts.

What your kundli shows

  • Lagna (ascendant) and rashi (moon sign)
  • Your janma nakshatra and its pada
  • Positions of the 9 grahas: Surya, Chandra, Mangal, Budh, Guru, Shukra, Shani, Rahu and Ketu
  • The 12 bhavas (houses) and what each one rules
  • Vimshottari dasha: which planet period you are running and until when
  • Navamsa (D9) and other divisional charts
  • Yogas and doshas such as Mangal dosha, Kaal Sarp dosha and Shani sade sati

How AstroSaar reads your chart

AstroSaar uses Vedic (sidereal) astrology with Lahiri ayanamsa, the standard used in most Indian panchangs. Your chart is shown in the North Indian diamond style, and every house, planet and dasha comes with a plain-language explanation, not just symbols. The same kundli is then used for your rashifal, kundli milan and Lal Kitab upay, so your readings always agree with each other.
